VNC - xvncviewer-gtk with 2D scaling for the hard-of-sight: press F10, F11
to zoom in and out. F12 rescales to x1. Needs a fair bit of work but just
about does the job right now.

autofs-ghost - why did I bother? Long story. The ghost patch for a stable
debian package version of autofs.

mencoder-ezy - frustrated with having to remember complex mencoder
commands for up to three passes of conversion as well as multiple accessory
scripts needed to set the parameters for those commands? This utility in crude
OOPerl takes the labour out of this process. Just give it your input movie
and specify the most important parameters of your conversion, and it does the
rest. In theory. It needs some work, I know.

screen-4.0.2+logbinary - screen v4.0.2 with 'logbinary' 'mpeg4 video'-style
logging enhancement, for playing back screen sessions like a video.
Use with scriptsh's scriptshreplay (below).

SCRIPTSH - a pseudo-shell that spawns another shell, but logs everything
output to a file (optionally in a binary log format with timestamps, for
playing back terminal sessions like a video. Comes with scriptshreplay.
